Files, Players & Mods

Handle day-to-day game administration from the browser while preserving world safety, permissions, and a reproducible mod manifest.

Files & Backupsv0.213 MIN

The Files, Players & Mods hub guides you through the three core day-to-day administration tasks: managing server files and directories, moderating players online, and installing or updating game mods and modpacks.

Back up before making irreversible changes

Back up world data before editing live files, changing a modpack, or running irreversible player actions. Use the Backup & Recovery tools to create snapshots before experiments.

Work with server files

Browse known server paths, create folders and files, upload assets, and edit text configuration in place. The file manager enforces path isolation and prevents accidental symlink escapes.

Stay inside exposed pathsPreserve file ownership and permissions; respect directory boundaries.
Stop before editing runtime-rewritten filesSave or stop the game before editing files it rewrites at runtime.
Create a fresh backupBackup before replacing world or configuration directories.

Manage players

Use the player view for online capacity, whitelist and ban operations, and auditable moderation. The player list shows who is online, and the moderation log tracks all changes with timestamps and reasons.

Confirm player identityVerify the player before applying whitelist or ban changes.
Pair moderation with a reasonRecord why you're kicking, banning, or unbanning a player so it can be audited later.
Communicate disruptive changesUse broadcasts and planned restarts to notify players of maintenance or modpack updates.

Install mods and modpacks

Choose a registry, allow-listed URL, upload, or game-specific ID flow, then verify loader compatibility. Mods are installed into a manifest file that persists across restarts and can be version-controlled.

Choose a trusted sourceSelect a mod from a trusted registry or known provider to avoid supply-chain attacks.
Review dependencies and versionsVerify that all mod dependencies are present, file provenance is trusted, and update checks are supported.
Save, restart, and verifySave the manifest, restart gracefully, and watch game logs to ensure all mods load correctly.

MOD CHANGE LOOP

01   Choose a trusted source and verify game, loader, and version
02   Review dependencies, file provenance, and update-check support
03   Save the manifest, restart gracefully, and watch game logs
