Supported versions and compatibility

One authoritative matrix for platform dependencies, development tools, release alignment, deprecations, and support windows.

Upgradesv0.22 MIN

One source of truth: chart, images, CRDs, and database schema travel together in every release. Never infer support from “latest” releases of underlying tools.

Platform compatibility

Production clusters require explicitly tested version tuples.

Component Supported Baseline Notes
Gameplane / chart Pinned release Matching Chart, images, CRDs, and DB schema travel together.
Kubernetes 1.28+ Required Use an explicitly tested version tuple for production.
Helm 3.13+ Required OCI chart installation and rendering baseline.
StorageClass Supported CSI Default or named Access mode, expansion, topology, and reclaim must be known.

Developer and contract versions

Baseline tool versions for building, extending, and testing Gameplane.

Component Supported Baseline Notes
Go 1.26+ Repo / CI All Go modules share the workspace baseline.
Node.js 22.12+ Web + website Lockfile install is the supported path.
oras ≥ 1.2 Module tooling Builds and pushes OCI module bundles.
CRD / API v1alpha1 gameplane.local Breaking field changes require version planning.
Record version tuples, never infer support.

Document the complete Helm release version, all image digests, CRD group version, database schema version, and the Kubernetes version tuple. These travel together and must be recorded for audit and rollback purposes.

Release schedules and support windows

Gameplane follows semantic versioning. Beta releases (v0.x.0-betaY) include significant features and are suitable for testing and non-critical deployments. Stable releases (v1.0.0+) are production-ready with long-term support.

Current stable release: v0.2.0-beta.8 (latest published)
Development release: v0.3.0-rc.1 (tagged, not published as a release; see Changelog for v0.3.0 features)

Deprecation notices for upcoming major or breaking changes appear in release notes and this reference page.
